Dr. Emily Rowe is a clinical psychologist with a deep specialization in trauma-informed care, particularly focusing on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is passionate about working with survivors of interpersonal violence, adult survivors of childhood abuse, and individuals impacted by harmful religious experiences. Dr. Rowe is committed to providing compassionate, individualized care and is particularly skilled in treating complex trauma presentations, including PTSD, mood disorders, and severe mental illness. She has a nuanced understanding of the cultural, political, familial, and personal dimensions of trauma, which she integrates into her therapeutic approach.

Education & Experience
Dr. Rowe earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Health Service Psychology – Clinical from Western Carolina University, where her dissertation focused on the impact of Evangelical Purity Culture on shame and PTSD. She also holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Appalachian State University, where she studied the role of religious fundamentalism in the stigmatization of mental illness and substance use disorders. Dr. Rowe’s clinical experience spans various settings, including community mental health, private practice, and specialized trauma centers. She has worked extensively with diverse populations, including refugees, asylum seekers, and individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
